flashdog_1 Posted March 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2006 If you will go to the Celebrity board and do a search for either Galaxy or Poetic License you will find her review on the coffee plantation tour with lunch. Lunch was included but the Celebrity site did not show the knife and fork so I wasn't sure about it. There is a similar tour called Hacienda experience where you go to the same area, see a sugar cane and coffee plantation and the Revalazion? River and falls which are not included on the Grano d'oro tour, same price, same length of time.
mared1 Posted March 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2006 Has anyone been on the Grano de Oro Golden Bean Coffee Tour? Is it a long day and a long bus ride? We took a tour with Carnival to the Golden Bean Coffee Plantation. Because coffee grows in the mountains - it is a long bus ride (it took 2 hours)- we did have a good tour guide who pointed out things on the way up and back so it made the time go by faster and seeing how coffee is processed is interesting. The driver stopped on the way back and the guide bought a bunch of bananas for all of us to try one. I would not recommend this trip for anyone with children - just too long of a ride. Also it did take up almost all the time we were in port - we only had 20 minutes once we got back to the port to do a little shopping at the vendors by the pier.
