Robbiec330 Posted October 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2022 Hi folks, never done a med cruise before but just wondering if anyone can offer any advice. Thinking of doing a 7 night cruise round Tenerife or the canaries in November but worried if the could be choppy? Does anyone know what it’s like that time of year? Thanks

Thanks Hi Robbie, and welcome to Cruise Critic, The Canaries may be Spanish, but they're not in the Med. and they're a long way south of Spain. Are you a Brit? In winter months we've holidayed in the Canaries several times, and cruised round them twice with Marella The weather in the Canaries isn't as guaranteed as it is in summer, but they're the closest, easiest & cheapest destinations for us Brits to get some winter sun, and we've been pretty lucky.. Seven days means it's a fly-cruise, which is good - the English Channel and Bay of Biscay can be very bad-tempered in November. The biggest risk of choppy seas is between the Canaries and Madeira - if you're not great in rough seas and you have the options of a cruise including Madeira or Morocco, choose Morocco. But Madeira is better. November is a slow month for cruises, and its not far away now. So I expect you're getting a bargain price P & O ? Or Marella ? I say go for it, whichever cruise line. Langoustine Posted October 13, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) The islands you mention are not in the Med, but in the Atlantic Ocean; ANYTHING is possible.... Edited October 13, 2022 by Langoustine
