Disembark Day Flight Timing

Hello -- This board has been very helpful to us in regard to dining questions we had as we are preparing to take our first Viking Cruise in January.  We have another question which you may be able to help us with as well.

We are booking our own flight home after the cruise.  We plan to leave on disembark day and are looking to book a flight leaving FLL at 11:15am.  We understand that weather, dock strikes, etc. can interfere with the arrival time of the ship but, assuming everything concernng arrival goes smoothly, do you think that an 11:15 flight time should not present a problem?

Once again, I thank you for your help!

Should be fine. No significant worries regarding strikes. Port Everglades is literally 10 minutes by taxi to FLL if they drive slowly. The weather in January in FLL should be perfect. (I live 10 minutes from the port and have been home drinking coffee by 9AM.)

For international flights, we always book to stay in debarkation port city a for few extra days.

But flying domestic from FLL earlier this year, we had a 11:30am flight.

Went down to purser's desk to ask for earliest debark # group.

After picking up our luggage, immigration & customs took less than 5 minutes, the most efficient port ever.

Got into waiting taxi, no lines, arrived FLL airport in less than 15 minutes.

Arrive at airport lounge with more than 2 hours to spare...

Filed under general knowledge, the answer to this question should be on the Viking Guest Statement (as opposed to a statement generated by a travel agency). It will say something like what was on our invoice for our last cruise :
