Casino Tier Match

Has anyone done the casino tier match with Carnival? We frequent our local casino and have a high card.  What benefit is there to to doing this?

If you are a sufficiently high status they will probably give you a free cruise. 

 

I got Caesars Diamond status (through a credit card status match, not through gambling).  I then matched that to MGM Gold status.  I submitted both of those player cards to Carnival and they sent me an email for a free cruise, inside cabin ($200 deposit, but I get $200 OBC).  A few days later, they sent me another email for a free cruise, balcony cabin (same prices).  I booked both of them so I effectively got two free cruises for playing the status match game.  This was done April/May of this year, I dunno if anything's changed in the last half year.

I have submitted the tier match.  Plat with MGM and get suite offers all the time.

 

Been two months and nothing back from Carnival.

That's because Carnival's casino program isn't like the other cruiselines or land based casinos. Carnival's program doesn't have customer defined player levels/tiers. Obviously on the back end there is a ratings/ranking system but unlike Royal, Celebrity, and NCL they are not visible to the customers. So there's no obvious 'level' that one plays to attain to. You can gamble $20 or $20,000 and you wouldn't know what level you are at nor what offers you're supposed to be getting. The only way is to log on to the website and see what offers are in your VIFP account.
