HAL air vs AA

For a January 2023 cruise on NS, the air is $50 more pp on HAL vs the airline directly.  Any reason to go with HAL?  Thx!  Kris

Make sure you are comparing like seats.  AA has so many tiers now.  Also be sure to review business class, I have gotten business class for a few dollars more over premium economy.  Be sure to look at HAL’s flex fare, not the restricted.  
 

for domestic flights you won’t see a lot of difference.  I don’t put much weight into their guarantee to get you to port on time or hold the ship.  Prepandemic that might have been true but things are just so messed up with the airlines now.  
 

I don’t know if this is a quirk or standard but we always get a free checked bag when buying with HAL on domestic flights and we have no particular status with AA.   Before we had TSA pre check we would also get priority security clearance.  Probably just a quirk.
