$1,200 on a nickel machine at the old Alladin in Vegas.  Only time I had to wait for a tax form.   That same weekend, $900 on the $5 slots at Bellagio.   I had to pay for everyone’s every g— —  thing after that.  Food, drinks, it all comes out in the wash.

This is precisely why jackpots are so fun. For a few minutes — hours — you get to be the Captain of Fun. Good memories. I never buy groceries with big wins.

Here's a random question.... has anyone been part of a slot pull that won big??  I've participated in a few, but we never win...(whether we get the casino host involved or not)... atleast if you get the casino host involved, sometimes they will give you some swag...

Only one I've participated in actually won but I wouldn't say big.  I think we all walked away with about $20 each from our $5 investments. I seem to recall we were losing until the last spin.

I've been a participant in one and ran one. Both times we just drew the money down to $0, because we never won anything big to split. Based on my results, I shouldn't do a slot pull in the future, but we will probably throw in a few bucks toward the one in March. At the very least, it's an entertaining 30 minutes or so.

Also, I haven't done this, but have heard others who had the agreement of the group. They would take whatever they had (if they didn't win anything) and put the remainder on black at the roulette table. Might be a fun option...the fun just won't last as long if you don't win.
