iknbrgr Posted November 14, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2022 I have a cruise on Glory scheduled for January 15, 2023. Received an email yesterday stating my Carnival purchased excursion in Belize to Goff's Caye was cancelled and refund processed. There was no reason given. My cruise planner no longer shows the excursion. Any ideas why it was cancelled? How long does it take to receive the refund? Any recommended private companies that could do this excursion? Thanks in advance iknbrgr
Island Dog Posted November 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2022 You can book it direct from an independent tour operator. We have done this many times. Easy peasy right from the dock where the tender brings you in. https://belizecruiseexcursions.com/excursion/sun-kissed-goffs-caye-beach-snorkeling-belize/ Try the lobster there, it's amazing! Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted November 14, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2022 We enjoyed that excursion perhaps three times many years ago. I didn't know that Carnival was offering it again - after cancelling them all following a death there (boat propeller vs. snorkeler). Tom
bguppies Posted November 14, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2022 Not positive, but I thought a couple of weeks ago somebody had posted that Carnival (and I believe RCCL and NCL) had cancelled and quit offering any excursions with snorkeling or scuba involved due to insurance reasons. Sorry, but as I rarely ever book ship excursions, I didn't keep up with the thread.
kasuer Posted November 14, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2022 It was supposed to be closed through Oct 22 for reconstruction. Maybe it's been extended. I tried to book through an independent company and there are no options (that I could find.)

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted November 14, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2022 ahhh--- they've built a structure there (in the last 15 years or so)! Tom

All scuba excursion have been removed do to the insurance issue but snorkeling has been up in the air. I would bet this could be why the OPs excursion was cancelled?!
