CarolRoy Posted November 27, 2022 #51 Share Posted November 27, 2022 Has anyone used X insurance when you booked a free cruise? I put in $0 for the cost of the cruise. They said do not to include port charges. Got a good price for the insurance. We are 70+ and this sounded like a good thing. Any comments?
def0715 Posted November 27, 2022 #52 Share Posted November 27, 2022 You didn’t have to pay taxes/port fees on the free cruise?
Retired888 Posted November 28, 2022 #53 Share Posted November 28, 2022 You cannot buy Celebrity insurance with the BCC free cruise. I paid for it and got a refund. I bought from a 3rd party insurer.

But the site AON said do not include port charges when you put in what you paid for the cruise. So I put in $0 for the cruise fare.
CarolRoy Posted November 28, 2022 #55 Share Posted November 28, 2022 I was on the phone with X insurance for over one hour and no one could give me a definitive answer about their canceling the insurance after paid being that I put $0 in the cost. So I went down to my local AAA office and got Allianze for a few more dollars with a lot more coverage (especially for medical evac).
