8 Bells Posted November 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2022 I have a cruise booked on Regal Princess for January '23. I just checked the Princess website and did a "dummy" booking for the same category cabin, and the price has dropped by $161, so I had a chat with a Princess rep about the price difference. She said they cannot make price adjustments. It's been several years since I last cruised with Princess, but I know they have done this in the past. What recourse do I have? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TY.
Rare Ombud Posted November 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2022 Strange. My CVP does this for me but I've never asked within 45 days. Once my flight is ticketed I stop watching fares
MichiganFisherman Posted November 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2022 They can make price adjustments but you're way past final payment and weeks before sailing. The line generally drops prices last minute to fill cabins and no way in heck are they giving every person on board a refund last minute ..... I wouldn't even expect them to. ringers0815 Posted November 23, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2022 Ask for an on board credit, they did that for us once when price dropped after final payment.
MiddleagedM Posted November 23, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2022 Many of the current price reductions are for new bookings only, therefore if you are already booked the lower price would not apply. I had the same situation on our Christmas cruise on Enchantment. CVP was able to get a slightly lower price but could not match the lower new booking price. justafem Posted November 24, 2022 #8 Share Posted November 24, 2022 Our cruise fare dropped $300 total, not each, on our Jan 31 2023 booking. I was offered the new fare, but would have lost over $600 in onboard. Answered my own question when I thought about it and declined the refare.
