Rare voyager1964 Posted November 23, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2022 Hope to get an input from those who sailed Ovation or Encore.. I am considering an Ovation voyage in March 2024 that calls to three tender ports in the Caribbean, all of which are very tempting. The challenge is that DW has back problems and is able to make a few stairs only. She walks OK on flat surfaces and swims very well. I called Seabourn's accessibility department that then redirected me to a shorex department. Bottom line, I was told that Ovation has a special lift for tendering on the starboard side only, whereas the tendering can occur on either side. So, how many stairs would tendering imply? The same question is about the access to ship's Marina - it appears there is an elevator to get to Marina's level, but are there stairs to get to the water? Thanks in advance! Asquare Posted November 23, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2022 On the Encore in May, Greece/Turkey, with lots of tender ports. The elevator took you to the exit area but there were probably 5-6 metal steps to go up/down to the tender platform.
florisdekort Posted November 25, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2022 You can reach tender level by elevator but it’s 6 steps down to get into the tender itself. On the other end, it varies by location if there are steps (and how many) or a ramp to get from the tender to the dock.
