The first time on a new ship with an established line is far different than the first cruise on a new cruise line...and as noted, there will be many cruises with family of crew and/or travel agents trying it out first.  We were on the first public sailing of the Disney Magic after only one 250 person "celebrity" sailing.  It was just plain awful.  18 months later, it was amazing.  When they launched the Wonder, they took half the crew from the Magic, so they had experienced people and knew what they were doing.

I'm sure Virgin will also move experienced crew to the new ships as they come out.
