cynic957att Posted May 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Going on Glory with DW and 10yo daughter. Daughter loved the catamaran in Cayman 2 years ago. Is this an OK excursion with a10 year old or more of a party boat?
tjatczak Posted May 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2004 It has been several years (7 or 8) but this was one of the best excursions we have done. Not much "partying" at all. Great sail out to another island, then some great snorkeling. Loved to lay on the nets while sailing, Quite cool and refreshing! Ted Time to go "cruise-shopping" again! teedee Posted May 24, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2004 It's been a couple of years since I did this excursion, but it was definitely a family type thing. Not too wild and crazy at all. We really loved it. hstrybuf Posted May 24, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2004 This is such a fun excursion that I did it twice in less than 18 months! One little girl got seasick, but everyone else did fine. Fun time with not too much partying, but drinks were readily available. If you sit by or on the netting, watch your drink. Sometimes the sea comes up through the net and into your drink! Be sure to take a waterproof camera with you for some great shots. "Mudding up" comes when you get to the beach. Give it a try! And be prepared for nudists to be farther on down the beach. jule911 Posted May 24, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Whatever you do, do NOT book the Fury, we just came back from the Victory, it was the worst snorkling trip we have ever been on. NJoynCruisin Posted May 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We were just on the Golden Eagle earlier this month. The excursion is one of the best we've ever experienced. Great ride, open bar, very friendly crew. I will caution you however, while we were on the island, another catameran came in and all the passengers and crew were nude. They did walk the beach, so I'm not sure how appropriate it would be for a 10 year old. They were kind of strange looking to us, but we were all adults. While on the island we were all able to enjoy a 'mud bath'. It was supposedly volcanic ash, mixed with a little sand and water. We did take part and our skin was silky smooth afterwards. If you do decide to book this one, please do the mud bath. beachpeople Posted May 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2004 The 9 and 11 year olds on our trip loved in April. Drinks available but not a party atmosphere. The nudes pulled up also down the beach while we were there but it was far enough away you could not see details. They put up a tent and kept to themselves. Not a problem for me. Go.... you will love it.
