NancyC Posted December 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2022 Is there a standard for when a guarantee room assignment is made? I am doing a b2b on the Dream and one cruise is a guarantee. I am just anxious to see if the rooms are the same or similar.
nwo4life Posted December 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2022 no, you might not get an assignment until you arrive at port.
serene56 Posted December 5, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2022 Especially a B2B I would want to the same cabin so I dont have to unpack, pack and unpack again
Mic101680 Posted December 5, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2022 They can assign the room any time, up to when you arrive at the port. I found out recently that part of it depends on how well that sailing is selling.
wemjam Posted December 7, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 7, 2022 Sometimes it is pretty quick, but as others have said it can be right up until you sail. We have done this maybe 4 to 6 times, and my personal experience has always been that we had our room assignment WELL before we sailed (at least several weeks minimum). Sometimes we had it assigned within just a week or so of booking. I will say, for the most part we don't do it because we know there is always a chance you will end up in a room you don't like, but we have been lucky. All assigned rooms we have received have been very good and a room we might have picked ourselves.
ronrythm Posted December 8, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2022 I’ve done a lot of guarantees, traveling as a single. I have had my room assignment months before and I have had it assigned at the ship. It all depends on how the ship is selling. If the room location is important to you, you might choose to upgrade to an assigned room.
