donnas902 Posted December 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2022 First European cruise, sailing Lisbon to Barcelona (6 ports along Spain🇪🇸) on the Dawn Oct 23. I am arriving a day ahead but am not sure if I should book my own hotel or go through NCL? Same question for Barcelona, I would like at least 2 nights before returning to Boston. This will be my first European cruise so I will be very appreciative for any advice. Thank you
Rare Turtles06 Posted December 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) It will usually be less expensive to book on your own. (Cruise lines typically charge for the hotel per person, rather than per room.) And you’ll have more choices. If you go to the Mediterranean Ports of Call forum here on CC, you can do a search for hotel info, and also ask about hotels. (There are sub-forums for Spain and Portugal.) And of course there are other sites, like Trip Advisor. You can also price out the NCL hotel option to compare. (It might also include transfers to/from the airport and ship, but I’m not certain about that.) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/472-mediterranean-eastern-western/ Enjoy your trip! redlock Posted December 13, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2022 Can recommend The Andante hotel in Barcelona. A small comfortable boutique style hotel, close the the port and Las Ramblas with a stunning view from the roof top infinity pool.
thespiritmovesme Posted December 13, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2022 We are using NCL's Lisbon Marriott for $250.00/room for one night. We also have transfers from airport to hotel to airport as a separate line item. Can we do it cheaper? I'm sure we can but is it as convenient? Not to us! It's my vacation & I like easy peasy.
