Rotterdam and zebrugges shuttles

P&O shuttle (included in some fares, small fee for other) takes you about 3 miles to the train station in Blankenberge. From there its a 10 - 12 minute ride to quaint & historic  Bruges, or to featureless Brussels or elsewhere.

Bruges is by far the most popular destination, with good reason.

Problem is that the train service is hourly, and you can't be sure what time you'll arrive in Blankenberge on a ship's shuttle.  So if you're unlucky you might lose a full hour. Bruges station is a 15 minute walk from the centre, the Grote Markt.

Doubtless P&O  like most cruiselines offer a payable "Bruges on your Own" transfer, but there's now a privately-run bus service from the port. Both services drop at Bargeplein, also a 15 minute walk to the centre (via the "little red bridge" and Minnewater Park). Buses aren't allowed into the cobbled centre

Or a taxi - not too expensive if pre-booked & shared - can take you right to Grote Markt / Belfort Tower.

Or get an all-day ticket on the coastal tram (kusttram) to see Ostend, the Atlantic Wall at Raversjde, Niewpoort,  mebbe even as far as the resort of De Panne near the French border.
