How was the food onboard? How was the layout of the ship..was it easy to get around?? What was the age group range onboard? How was the decor of the ship? Did the ship have alot of motion?? How was the entertainment? How was the nightlife(please compare if you have been on another carnival cruiseship ok) was their some late night partying onboard?? steveNcindy Posted May 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2004 http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?q=Y&s=927093444&a=tpc&m=5021005&f=969097554 Cyt - here is a link to our review of the Legend - we absolutely loved it and I have booked another cruise on her as a surprise for Cindy for her birthday (January 05 - What Legends are Made of CC Group Cruise). To answer some of your questions: - Loved the ship - big but not crowded. There was always something going on and also lots of areas to go off and enjoy some peace and quiet in the sunshine. - Food was incredible - do not miss going to the Golden Fleece as it is well worth the extra 25 dollars. - The ship is laid out very well and very easy to get around once you get your bearings. - The majority seemed to be 35 - 55 on our cruise with a few young families mixed in also. One note, the kids who were on board were very well behaved and seemed to always be involved with some type of Camp Carnival activity. - Ship really rocked a couple of days but not enough to cause any sickness. I did not take any meds, patches, bands, etc - just relied on Corona to keep me balanced and healthy. I did miss the rocking once we were back on land. - Cindy loved all the shows and I enjoyed a couple of them as well but shows are not really my thing. I did really like the Sammy Davis Jr / Frank Sinatra tribute though. - We were out most nights until about 2 am so there was lots to do late if you are a nighthawk. We spent a couple of nights in the casino, one in the piano bar and a few in the disco before turning in and a nightcap on the balcony. Any other questions, let me know. hstrybuf Posted May 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2004 I agree with steveNcindy. The decor is what you'd find on any Carnival ship, but I thought it was prettier than the other Carnival ships on which we've sailed. We had a wider age range on our sailing, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. As far as the food, we found the prime rib to be tough but enjoyed most of what was served anywhere on the ship. JeepLadyLtd Posted May 25, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2004 We were on the same cruise with Hstrybuf. I agree with her the ship is just beautiful. At first the Urns are a little overwhelming. Once you get used to them after about 5 minutes, you won't even notice them. The food was great don't miss the Reuben sandwiches from the deli. Our entertainment was ok I thought. I liked all the lounge acts. Wayne in the piano bar is very good. I think the entertainment changes. The Sammy Davis tribute was good but, he was leaving our ship to go on another ship. We all had a great time, we had a 13 year old boy and 15 year old girl so when I say all I include our teens. Which are sometimes hard to please.LOL Have a great cruise!!! -The Carnival Legend 4/13/04 until the Carnival Legend

partman57 Posted May 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2004 You will love the ship. It is well designed. you can learn the ship fast and you can take the top route to get from front to back. It is sure faster. Love the Lido Deck. Lots of food all the time. I can agree on the Golden fleece. Best 50.00 per couple you will ever spend. Look in webshots. budsheila that is our cruise pictures from last October. Our cabin was 8260 aft. 8I. Happy sailing 10/03 Legend

BigDoug Posted May 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We were on the Legend last October to Bermuda. Unfortunately for some, we hit a storm off the Carolina coast. With 70 mph winds and 30 - 35' waves the ship was really rolling. This lasted for a day and a half. I thought the ship handled very well considering the seas. The decor of the ship is wonderful. Not as much neon as on other Carnival ships. We really liked the layout with the Casino and Dining room on Deck 2 and the Promenade/Photo Gallery on Deck 3. The food and service was excellent. We have booked the Legend again for March 2005. pungo3 Posted May 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We also loved the Legend. In fact, it is our favorite ship so far. The food was wonderful, the service outstanding and the decor is easy on your eyes. We found it extremely easy to get around. As an added bonus, the casino was kind to us. We actually left with more money than we came with. Laurab23 Posted July 10, 2004 #12 Share Posted July 10, 2004 We did the golden fleese one night for dinner and that was the best meal I have ever had. Well worth the additional money. Not just for the food but for the whole experience. I'm glad we did it the second to last night or we probably would have spent more money doing it more nights. The food in the dining rooms was great but the supper club was wonderful. Will do it again on any other cruises we go on if they offer it.
stokerhj Posted July 12, 2004 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2004 Since there is only one dining room I assume there is only one early and one late seating. What time are the seatings? Thanks!
barbpol Posted July 13, 2004 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2004 I was on the Legend from 6/24-7/2. We had early seating which was 5:45. I thoroughly enjoyed every meal in the dining room. I thought the food on the buffet was very good, but it was more spread out than I remember on the Conquest. One time I wanted fries with my sandwich at lunch and it felt like I had to walk all of deck 9 to get them. The shows were great. 2 Vegas style shows, magician, comedians, song&dance. The disco didn't come alive until 11:30pm. We liked the Piano bar before then. I was worried about what I had read about the motion of the ship, but we were fine. I didn't care for P.R. much, but enjoyed St. Thomas and Tortola. All in all, we had a great time. I can't wait to cruise again. Barb
