Rotterdam and zebrugges shuttles

You can easily do Amsterdam on your own. From the Rotterdam cruise port, walk to the metro and take a metro train to Central Station (just 4 stops). From Rotterdam Central Station, you can take the Intercity Direct straight to Amsterdam Central Station. Trains run every 10 minutes, and it will take you only 40 minutes to get from Rotterdam to Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a very walkable city; if you step out of Central Station, you're right in the middle of town. If you're not into walking, you can also take a tram or the metro.

Our ship will be porting in Rotterdam and not Amsterdam as originally scheduled. I want to take the train to Amsterdam.  Is it better to take taxi to Centraal station  or the tram/train?  If tram, then how to purchase ticket?

Easy to buy the ticket at the train station using a credit card.  Once in Amsterdam you can purchase tram ticket - be sure to enter in the correct door and validate your ticket.  Love the quick trip from Rotterdam to Amsterdam, enjoy the lovely bit of greenery.

Do all Metro stops in Rotterdam offer ability to purchase ticket with credit card or are some just on/off stops?   This one will be near cruise port.
