Arranging for flights from Miami after disembarking from a Transatlantic

We will be booking a flight from the Miami Airport after disembarking from a Transatlantic sailing and wondering if the time we are looking at --- a 1:40 p.m. departure -- sounds like it would give us enough time to comfortably make the flight.  We have heard that sometimes there are delays both in getting off the ship in Miami and very crowded at the Miami airport as well, so just want to be prepared as to what we might expect.

Our second to last port on the cruise is Puerto Rico and I remember reading at some point that they do some type of immigration check there for all passengers.  That being the case, does it save some time once we depart in Miami?

Any information would be appreciated...thanks.

You should not have any problem with the 1:40 departure.  The last time we stopped in San Juan during a T/A. they did immigration details there and on departure we just claimed our luggage and walked out of the building.  This was on the Explorer just before the Covid restrictions.

We disembarked Miami and used Regent's bus transportation to MIA. Next time, I would take Uber, taxi or private transport. Have taken Uber quite successfully. Much more convenient and relaxing than on and off the bus with 45-50 other airport bound guests.

you should be fine with 1:40.  I am comfortable with anything after 12:00.  definitely recommend taking an uber. And yes, we did the immigration in San Juan and just walked off the ship and claimed luggage in miami--this was last January.
