Upgrade using different Credit Card

Booked on the Joy in May.   I would like to surprise the wife and kids with an upgrade.  I used our joint credit card (which wife controls) to make final payment.  Is there a way to use a different credit card during the  Upgrade Advantage? (so she doesnt see the charge)

Yes, when you put in the bid, they will ask for your credit card info (so it can be a different one),

 

Are you using the first card for its travel insurance? If so you may need to check if the upgrade on another card will invalidate that-may times you have to pay for" the entire trip" with that one card

There is no issue at all.  The CC used for the Upgrade Advantage program can be a completely different one than what was used to pay the cruise.  We've done this before where one of us has paid for the cruise and the other has done the bidding payment.

The card only gets charged if you win the bid, so depending on how large of a bid you're putting in it may be a non-issue. Plus that's a fun way to announce the surprise.
