Turquoise Bay Beach Resort - Roatan

I am cruising with Norwegian in June and signed up for the "Turquoise Bay Horseback Ride and Snorkeling" excursion. I heard from another cruiser that the guide will lead your horse through the trail and down to the beach. I am a skilled horseback rider, so this is a huge no-go for me. Is there anyone that has been on this excursion and can confirm if they *require* a guide to lead your horse, or can you ride by yourself? ETA: To clarify - I don't mind being in a group with a guide ahead of us leading us through the trail. I'm referring to a guide walking next to your horse with a lead rope in their hand and literally walking your horse while you're on the back.
