Noise levels on Deck 5 Jewel Class??

Ahoy!

Planning to cruise on Jade, with an Oceanview cabin on deck 5 (starboard side).

I did not see any input in the Cruise Critic Cabin Information compilation for NCL for this deck.

So I'm asking here about Jewel class ships.

Who has a comment on deck 5 cabins hearing noise from the Deck 6 casino / restaurants/ bars?

Or, for that matter, coming up from Deck 4 (which has public cabins only on port side).

Thanks in advance!

I have had cabins both on Deck 4 and 5-- not again.  Deck 4 I was near where they put the gangway at every port of call-- crowded and noisy-- limited access to your cabin.  Deck 5 was okay except for being under what is called "Bar City" where the entertainment stage is.  Very quiet during the day and depending on the entertainment playing very loud late into the evening and early morning.

Now after many cruises, when I book an Inside cabin on a "Jewel" class ship, I book either on Deck 10 or 11.

Three other points about Deck 4:

  (1) I had an Ocean view room.  You had to kneel on your bed to look out the porthole style window.

  (2) The Medical Center is located near the midship gangway area.

  (3) Some crew cabins are also on Deck 4-- down a different corridor but they are there.

1/ Was that OV room with a porthole or the big square window (Panoramic)?

1a/ I was wondering about viewing ocean surface while sitting on a twin bed.  Sounds 'not easy'.

2/ Fortunately Medical Centers are hardly used in recent years. /s

3/ I wonder if they hoot and holler, or just go to sleep once they reach their tiny cabins?

(1) Small porthole.  Sitting on the bed would make the porthole too high to see anything except the sky.

(2) Medical Centers tend to be very busy with regular schedule office hours for both passengers and crew (different hours for each), plus whatever emergencies they need to handle.

(3) Most of the time you will not hear crew movement.

I have been on the Jade sister ship. I had to be moved. We were right under the Kitchen of the main dining room. Pots and pans banging all through the night.  Then we were moved right next to the gang plank on deck 4. almost as bad. Security and people coming and going early to late. Fortunately not in the middle of the night when ship was moving.
