Ushuaia- Is it better to see Tierra del Feugo National Park by the end of the World Train, or by taxi?

The train only goes a short distance into the park. It terminates at the junction of Hwy 3 and the road to the End of the World post office, which means you would not see very much of the park.

The other tourist attractions, i.e. end of the pan-america highway and views of Lapataia Bay, are still 6-10kms further down Hwy 3.

When we were there we used a private guide who had his own vehicle. This worked out very well, because we got a full tour, rather then just a sightseeing drive through the countryside.

We used Nicholas at AlmaCalma (AlmaCalma.net) for a 5 hour tour private tour for 6 of us into Tierra del Fuego National Park.  We did 4 separate hikes in the park with him and drove to all the different attractions as well.  We stopped at the train station to see it also.  We even had a snack break where he made Mate for us and had little cakes with caramel inside made by his wife.  At the entrance he quieried the tour bus drivers to learn the order of their stops and took us to all the locations when the crowds were not there.  It was awesome!
