Hammergirl Posted March 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2023 We will be arriving the day before our cruise, likely in the afternoon. We are not planning on doing any sightseeing that day as we will be dealing with a 3 hour time change and will be tired early. We are not wanting to spend the big dollars to stay right in downtown and are happy to take an uber or shuttle to the cruise port the next day. We would like a nice hotel maybe near the airport or maybe one of the casinos. Have never been to Vancouver and plan to do some sightseeing after the cruise so will stay in downtown then. Philob Posted March 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) River Rock Resort Casino, near the airport. Take the Canada Line subway from the airport to Bridgeport station stops in front of the casino Will also take you to Waterfront Station, a block from the cruise terminal. Just follow the ant trail of roller luggage. Edited March 11, 2023 by Philob
Rare martincath Posted March 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2023 Agree with Philob that if casino is of interest, River Rock is most likely to work for you - but in my experience (and full disclosure, a friend managed their hotel for years!) they are not cheap! Being right on the SkyTrain line always carries a premium... One of the more basic properties like HI Express would put you within walking distance of the casino if you feel up to it. But frankly even the airport hotels often work out as or more expensive than the YWCA Hotel downtown, from where you can walk to the downtown fancy new casino easily.
