CanadianCruiser21 Posted March 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2023 The Virgin FAQ says we are not allowed to bring food on board without special clearance. What if I want to bring some candies/crystallized ginger for sea sickness? Does anyone here have experience with this? Does it have to be a brand new sealed bag? I’m going on a few cruises and would prefer not to buy a new bag each time.
Janthere Posted March 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2023 You won't have any issues at all. Each time we have been on we bring bags of snack foods etc with zero problems. They are looking for booze not food.
CanadianCruiser21 Posted March 19, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted March 19, 2023 Thanks @janbear! some other cruises allow food as long as it’s sealed, and I realize there is food on board, but sometimes I want my own snacks and candy as well. Rare cantgetin Posted March 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2023 No problem at all. A friend just brought a bunch of hot sauce for her relative who was also sailing....she got sent to the "naughty room" because they thought it was alcohol, but let her go as soon as they saw what it was.
