Petra visit limited walking-any experience?

We will travel with Oceania in June, and each Petra excursion strongly warn caution for those with mobility difficulties. I carry a collapsible stool as I need to sit, recover and continue. I have watched YouTube reviews which highlight how  special Petra is.  I know there are private owners offering animals (unlikely to use) but I also heard about golf carts, which would be ideal.

At this stage I feel like we can't visit Petra, but I would consider a private tour so we could manage our own pace. Does anyone have experience with a trusted provider please?

I recommend JIT, Jordan Inspiration Tours. Due to covid I was not able to use their services as our cruise was cancelled. They have a facebook page as well as a webpage. I emailed them with information about my problems and "fold and go" wheelchair. In reply they described what they could do, the itinerary, and cost. It did include a golf cart. I still wish to go there someday and will use JIT for touring..
