Current Rental Car Shuttle to Airport from Hawaii Ports : Hilo, Honolulu, Kauai (Nawiliwili), Maui (Lahaina),

Can only speak for Maui. If docking in Lahaina you are an hour away from the main airport. No need to rent from there.

 

there is a small airport in kapalua here on the west side of the island, but there are no car rentals on site there.

 

The closest car rental will likely be in Kaanapali and none of the rentals in Kaanapali offer a shuttle from Lahaina (that I am aware of).

 

You will likely need a Taxi or Uber, but it won’t hurt to call the rental company direct to verify.

Since they opened the new rental car facility at Hnl all the major companies are now on the airport property. Before it opened almost all car rental companies were off property.  Now they closed the offsite facilities except for ones around Oahu that are further away from the airport and are in town or Waikiki. I think you would need Uber or Lyft
