whitman Posted March 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2006 can't swim a stroke but want to experience the caribbean waters. are life jackets available at beaches or do i need to pack my own. floating on mats and jet skiing would scare me without a life jacket. Merion_Mom Posted March 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2006 Do you mean on one of RC's private places, like Labadee or CoCoCay? I've only seen them as part of a snorkel package, but they may have them for other people, too. If you are talking about some random beach somewhere, you would have to go to a commercial beach or resort and ask there.
MargaritaPlease Posted March 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2006 Consider purchasing a snorkel vest. They can be deflated and easily packed - and you could bring it with you to the beach of your choice. That would work for floating. Jet ski rental places should be able to provide life jackets.
