When is the cutoff to register a name?  Can it be after final payment?

Yes it can,  as I have booked after final payment and had to manually correct name.  EM

Essiesmom, did you book online or did you book on the call center? Was there a fee later to change from TBD to an actual name?

No there is no fee. You can change it pretty darn late, like just a few days before.

What happened is that I booked for myself and my sister.   But it never asked for the name of the second person, just put in my last name and TBA.  We had not shared the same last name for over 50 years.  It was an early saver booking, so when I went in to correct the name, it said I couldn’t change the entire name.  So I went back and chose modify, then added the first name, and hit save.  Then I repeated, changing the last name.  It works.  EM

So if you enter a name at time of booking and that person can't go, then you have to pay a fee to change the name. 

But if you leave it TBD, you can add the other person's name with no fee - Right? 

 

Sounds like this is the best route, if your travel companion has not yet committed.

Correct!  TBD you can then add name later.  If you have names right off the bat they want to charge you a change fee lol!  A good PVP can sometimes get that waived though as long as it isn't too close to cruising. 😉
