LadyYadaYada Posted April 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2023 Full disclosure: I have only had mt nails done professionally less than 5 times in my life, but want them done for an upcoming family wedding. I have a short 4 night cruise out of Miami. When I disembark I am flying out to the wedding in California. I have a local appointment 2 days before I cruise, for a mani-pedi which including tip will be $105. Past spa users, should I consider getting one on board? Are they long lasting at a similar price point?
Cru1s1ng2009 Posted April 18, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2023 is that the cost for gel? If so, it is expensive but not crazy. Gel will last but old school nail color likely wont.
Parkhopper Posted April 18, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2023 Cruise ship spa prices are much more expensive than land prices
sgmn Posted April 18, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2023 On my planner it shows mani/pedi with shellac for £96, traditional manicure for £38 Depends if you are wearing open toe shoes for the wedding ? Gel/shellac lasts two weeks, traditional nail varnish up to four or five days depending on what you are doing, can be just a few hours ! BTW I find shellac/gel ruins my nails so only treat myself to one once or twice a year
LadyYadaYada Posted April 18, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted April 18, 2023 Thanks. It is for gel which is why I get them done so in frequently, but gel typically lasts me almost 2 full weeks. Sounds like prices are similar in my area and on the ship.
* Angela * Posted April 18, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2023 You can certainly get a mani/pedi for much less pre-cruise than doing it in the spa; however, it is very relaxing and a great way to spend some "me" time on a sea day so why not treat yourself!
