EuropeanAmericanTraveler Posted April 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2023 (edited) Hello, I booked a transatlantic crossing for this summer on QM2 as a solo guest. I had to pay for double occupancy since I'm travelling by myself. Now, I am thinking of inviting a close friend of mine to enjoy the crossing and experience and share my cabin. Am I allowed to add a guest to my reservation? I would think this should be possible without any extra payment since I have already paid for the price of double occupancy (I paid for 2 guests although I'm travelling solo). Is there anything that would prevent me for adding someone to my reservation? Thank you Edited April 24, 2023 by EuropeanAmericanTraveler
MCC retired Posted April 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2023 As long as your cabin is bookable as a double occ. and your cabin location has not exceed lifeboat capacity, you should be okay with just paying 1 more port charges and taxs. You may also qualify for a better Rate Code.
Starstruckharper Posted April 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Hello, I'm in your pretty much exact same situation - I checked with my cruise vacation planner and she said I can add a guest to my booking at any time up to six days before departure. The new passenger still has to pay port taxes/gratuities/etc., but that's it.
EuropeanAmericanTraveler Posted April 24, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Thank you all for your replies, it's good to know. I also purchased CunardCare protection for myself. Do you know if it would also cover the other guest or would the extra person need to purchase it as well?

This is definitely a question for your cruise vacation planner (if you have one) I think. I am almost certain it would not. SireDoime Posted April 26, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2023 @EuropeanAmericanTraveler Thank you for the question. I often wondered how this would work, as I travel solo wishing I had a cruise partner.
