Manhattan Cruise Terminal when Raining

If the weather site is accurate, it looks like there may be heavy rain in Manhattan on Sunday. We have 9:30 am checkin.  We will be arriving by taxi.  Just wondering about how much activity is outside uncovered?  Drop off, porters, wait before entering terminal??  Thanks for any insights.
