Hello Travellers

Our next cruise has a, first time for us, visit to Elba, Italy. Excursions offered include one that visits Eastern Elba and another that visits Western Elba. Looking for advice from those who have been there

With thanks 😊

Tell us what else is included. Eastern probably has Napoleon's house and Porto Azurro. Western could be more mountains and seashore views. Unless you are more specific we can't tell you whether to go East or West.

Eastern Elba tour highlights - Marina di Campo, Beaches, Promenade, Capoliveri, Medieval Architecture, Town Centres, Porto Azzurro, Fort of San Giacomo

Western Elba tour highlights- West Coast of Elba, Chiessi or Pomonte Photo Stop, Monte Capanne, Marciana Marina Torre Saracena, Capoliveri, Porto Azzuro, Fort of San Giacomo

With thanks for advice and opinions

They both end up in the East in Porto Azzurro which is a very pretty town.  They both seem to have a lot of driving. The Western more so with the drive over the mountains. Are those the only choices? You might want to find one that includes Napoleon's Villa San Martino.

I  would prefer the Eastern one if those are the only choices.

Thank you Marazul

Yes, there is an excursion to Napoleon’s Villa, we weren’t sure if that would be of interest to us. Seeing parts of the island has more appeal.

In that case, do a little search of youtube videos for the places mentioned in each tour. The mountain lookouts in the Western tour might appeal to you more.
