swanseaboy Posted May 15, 2023 #51 Share Posted May 15, 2023 I worked for a cruise agent for a very short period of time. I know January is the busiest booking month of the year for cruise bookings. It's the post Christmas and New Year blues kicking in. I read somewhere that P&O cruises had it's busiest booking day in it's 180 years history this January 2023! I’m sure that January is the busiest booking month for most types of holiday, for the same reasons. I know that our thoughts usually turn to holidays in the dark and cold months! P&O are frequently quoting stats to agents about record this and record that. Given the vast increase in capacity that they have post Covid (with the arrival of both Iona and Arvia) they are bound to be breaking passenger and booking records. If they weren’t, there would be a major crisis! What would be really interesting to know is the average revenue per passenger day. I’d bet a few quid that’s down.
