Linking Carnival cabins as cruise companions

Does anyone know if you have to be paid in full or within a certain time frame of cruising to link cruise companions for dining? We are sailing with a group of 10 (5 cabins) on the Carnival Vista in 2025 and I’ve invited the others via the carnival website to be cruise companions but no one has received an email yet. Hoping I don’t have to call to link the bookings so I will take any tips and helpful hints. Thank you!

It can be done as soon as you book.  But, I've always just called. Never even tried the website method.

You can do it anytime once you have booked.  I would call to make sure they are linked.

I just do it every time we are all booked it is quite easy but you will need to know everyones booking number.

It hasn’t worked for us either (online). I tried from both my booking and my dads.

It worked for all of us except 1 cabin for a group of 5 cabins--I had to send the request/email multiple times for that one.
