4osparki Posted May 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2023 (edited) Just curious: Do the verandah rooms on Deck 5 (Gershwin) have strange views due to the lifeboats on Deck 4? We were looking at Room 5130 and I am unclear if I am going to see lifeboats on my balcony. Thank you! Cruise Suzy Posted May 23, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2023 @4osparki Welcome to Cruise Critic From Halfacts.com (a good Website to check for photos of HAL rooms) Rotterdam (a sister ship) 5128 Category V, no obstruction, but tenders are right below balcony. Everyone has a favorite location, but I wouldn't classify this as undesirable. There are staterooms above and below it, it's not a connecting room and it's somewhat mid-ship and low if you are prone to motion-sickness. If you look straight down, you will see the tops of the lifeboats but they do not interfere with straight-out views. I use the Cabin Check Tool on cruisedeckplans.com to see what's above and below a stateroom. I also check halfacts.com to see stateroom photos. Native Floridian 26 Posted May 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2023 We were in COVID quarantine in a deck 4 obstructed cabin presumably they offer these for quarantine because the view is the lifeboat. However, one deck up you'll be fine as the lifeboat is on eyelevel on deck 4, not deck 5.
