What time should I get to the pier?

We started boarding at about noon last August, we arrived at about 11:00 AM. The line wasn't too long then.

I guess you can say we are somewhat anxious, but we usually leave the hotel at about 10am. Since we usually spend the night in mid-town, it's only a short ride to the pier. I bring a book and before I know it, we're one of the first on the ship! I like to start my vacation early. :D

We're going to be driving into NY from Western PA for our June cruise on the Legend. It's been a very long time since I llived in NYC, and I know that I've blocked out memories of the traffic. How long should we plan on it taking to get into the City in the morning? Should I plan 8 hours to drive across PA & NJ and another 8 hours to get into the City on a weekday morning? Or should I forget trying to get to the pier in the morning, and just plan on a 12-1:00 arrival? Thanks for the suggestions.

Just plan your arrival after rush hour and you'll be fine.
