Denali McKinley Chalet Accommodation s

We were bumped by HAL last summer 2 weeks before our 18 day land/sea tour and HAL very generously gave us enough FCCs to take the entire trip (6 of us) this year.  My daughter and family are upgrading to Denali suites as they had excess credits.  DH and I are not upgrading as we have other plans for our remaining credits.  Having never been there, would appreciate any experiences, like might we be near each other at the resort or separated far from each other?  I know rooms are assigned and distributed before arriving at the resort. Has anyone had experience asking for any sort location preferences?  Thanks.

We have stayed at the McKinley Chalets a number of times both when they were owned by Aramark and now owned by HAL.  The complex is large with multiple dining options.  Most of the hotel rooms are located in two story lodges distributed throughout the looping road through the grounds.  There is a good chance you will be separated from the rest of your party.
