Terminal A Security Baggage

So I am heading on FOTS next week with my family. We wanted to ask the group if anyone had brought a large (checked bag sized) bag through security at Terminal A in Miami while getting on the ship. In other ports, we have not had a problem bringing large bags through the scanner without giving it to a porter but wanted to ask if this was the case in Miami?

All/most ports use the same sized xray equipment with a tunnel opening which can accommodate up to 24" wide bags.
