new_cruiser Posted June 14, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2023 Two people in our party have tested positive for COVID. Two more may have it. Our cruise ends in Vancouver on Friday. They have hotel reservations for two nights and a flight back to the US on Sunday. How is Canada/Vancouver currently handling people who arrive with COVID? I'm currently fine. Because I'm over 70, I had another booster a couple of weeks ago so I'm hoping to stay that way.

No impact at all, just recommendations not to travel anywhere or use public transit locally and to wear a well-fitted 'respirator' style mask whenever around other people. Ethically - well, that's on your peeps to decide since at least some of them *know* they are sick and therefore able to potentially infect others; how the inconvenience and cost of possibly having to change flights, additional hotel time etc. while isolating until testing negative balances against the risk of making someone else sick by traveling while infectious comes entirely down to a personal choice these days! 1
MBP&O2/O Posted June 15, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2023 Is the ship not obliged to declare this information before berthing? We used to enter port flying the " Q " flag. The International Code of Signals meaning is "My vessel is healthy and I require free pratique". If they have an infectious disease on board ........?
