That's in part because it's further south than the main malecon where Jaime's is located.  Maybe a 20-30 minute cab ride. Can still get sargassum, but you won't have the vendors or crowds along the malecon.  It is an eco resort that caters to staying guests and has a limit on number of cruisers it can take.  But if you want a little more isolation and if Maya Chan is still closed for vacation when you stop at Costa Maya, you might find it worthwhile.
