Educate me on the dry dock

Recommended Posts

Dry docks are not located at every port of call. Typically for scheduled maintenance the line would go out for bids for the fleet. The most attractive price shipyard or dry dock would be awarded the maintenance contract. On occasion something unscheduled happens that requires the ship to be placed into a dry dock for repair. In a case like this it becomes where the most convenience available space is to do the work.

Hope that helps :)
