Post cruise excursion in Miami with drop off at Miami International Airport

Celebrity is offering a post cruise excursion on an open top bus around Miami.  Then shuttle transfer to MIA with luggage being looked after for you.

 

Has anyone done this? 

I'm assuming it's a ticket for a HOHO bus round the city and a ticket for a shuttle to the airport afterwards. 

I'm keen to know if there is a fixed time for the shuttle as we have a very late flight (9:30pm) so don't want to be stuck in airport for too long.

 

Also, is the luggage transferred directkly to airport for us to collect?

We took this excursion, and although it accomplished it's stated objective, it was a horror story.  You collect your luggage as normal, then meet your tour bus, where they put your luggage underneath.  They take you to (what felt like) a random spot to wait in the heat for the HOHO.  Afterwards, you are back on the bus for the ride to the airport.  On our bus, it broke down on the highway, where we sat on the side of the road, with traffic whizzing by, and no air conditioning.  After over an hour, another bus arrived and they transferred our luggage to the new bus.  We then were finally allowed off and had to walk on the highway to the other bus.  Never again.

We booked this once but Celebrity cancelled it. When we fly back to the UK post cruise we usually book a hotel room for the day and lie by the pool until late PM, shower then depart. Arrange an Uber from the port and the hotel (DoubleTree Hilton) has a transfer.

 

Am sure we could be more adventurous but tend to do the Miami tour/Fort Lauderdale tour/Everglades/Shopping Mall at Sawgrass pre-cruise. Option is there though.

Never tried the HOHO post cruise but the one that goes to the everglades for an Air Boat ride to look for Gators is Fun.

 Done it 3 times.................

We used up time before flying home by using up OBC 

doing an Everglades excursion at the end of our last 

cruise out of Florida. Previously a day room at The 

DoubleTree Hilton has also worked well for us. It is

a much better option than hanging around Miami

Airport.
