sherims Posted July 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2023 Today, we were able to exit through a corner door in the Sistine Chapel and follow a passage down to the Basilica. We did not have to walk all the way around outside or pass through security again once there. It was perfect!
MeHeartCruising Posted July 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2023 Was it "advertised" as an exit or were you part of a tour group that was led there? When I used it several years, ago, it was not advertised as an exit but I "followed" a tour group and pretended to be with them. I'm just wondering if the need to do that as an independent traveler has changed.
sherims Posted July 4, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted July 4, 2023 A while after our tour ended, I asked a guard if it was open. He said yes and told us where to go. There were many people heading the same way.
