Beach with Kids - Carnival Port

I'm a novice cruiser so please pardon any ignorance :).  We are doing a Carnival western Caribbean cruise that includes Cozumel.  The only other cruise we've been on stopped at Half Moon Cay so the beach was easy!  We have booked excursions at other ports so we were looking to just relax at a beach in Cozumel.  We have an 8 yr old and 2 teens.  Any recommendations on beaches? Advice on getting to and from? Should we just purchase one of the beach excursions, if so, which one? Please share good and bad experiences. Thank you!

How much are you looking to spend?

There are no free beaches at any of the piers in Cozumel.'(International-RCCL or Puerto Maya-Carnival) Not like the private islands or Costa Maya or Roatan.

From Carnival's Puerto Maya pier a cab for two runs us $17 to any of the the southern beach clubs everyone recommends. (Paradise Beach, Playa Mia, Mr. Sanchos and Nachi Cocum.) Not sure what a cab for 5 would run.

If you have elementary school aged kids, Playa Mia looks very nice. (we are geezers who like a quiet beach day, so we go to Nachi Cocum everytime in Cozumel.)

The more info you can give about the size of your group  and your group's wanted activities, the better recommendations some of the frequent Cozumel visitors. (mostly what do you want your teens doing?)

Here are some photos of Playa Mia.

For a beach day, I  recommend Mr Sanchos or Paradise Beach for families.  Lots to do with kids including the inflatables on the water. Both have an all inclusive package & you can book online.  IMO Playa Mia is not as nice and the food there is pretty bad.  There are tours of all of them on YT so you can get a feel for each.
If anyone likes to snorkel, these beaches are not the place since they just have sandy beach with shallow water.  In that case I would spend the day at Chankanaab Park.  Great snorkeling with underwater statuary and sunken boat to see.  Lots to see & do in the park & a fun day. Also closest to port.
For any option, just grab a taxi when you arrive.  They will have a vehicle large enough to handle 5.
Enjoy!

Yes  Mr. Sanchos or paradise Beach are very suitable for children your age.  Teens would get bored quickly at Playa Mia and your tweener could be shunted by younger kiddos.  IMO MS is more suited for adults with its AI and swim up bar.  But lots to do there.  PB probably has better walk in prices, the inflatables are good, as are the the adult drinks and of course the food.
