Hotel suggestion in FLL

I’ve narrowed our choice down to the Renaissance on 17th or Marriott Fort Lauderdale airport.  Both have restaurants and stores near by.  I’d like to have dinner on the water and both areas seem to have that.  Would you pick one over the other?

I'd pick the Renaissance based solely upon location.  The Eisenhower Blvd entrance to Port Everglades is less than 3 blocks away.  Terminals 2 and 4 are within easy walking distance (and before the security checkpoint) if you should be leaving from one of them.  I can recommend Boatyard restaurant (https://boatyard.restaurant/), which is right next to the Renaissance, for both food and ambiance.
