I never imagined I'd ask this question. Having been on only one class of ship (Voyager), and recognizing so many similarities between them, I often wondered why people would ask, "Which ship to you prefer, Voyager or Navigator?"

 

Ok. So here goes.

 

It's between the Jewel in Nov, and the Radiance in Dec.

Only difference in one port and a few bucks in cost.

 

Sigh...so does anyone have a preference?:rolleyes:

Same with Voyager class--only difference is the decor! (and itenerary!) It's all up to you!

I would make the decision based on the ports, and if that didn't help, then I would pick the one that was refurbished most recently. Since they are virtually identical.

Is it possible that there would be a difference in cabin choice, or airfare, or weather anywhere along the way (from home airport to port or return), or whether there might be someone you met on a previous cruise on board? Is either date near TG, Hanukkah (12-16-06), Christmas, or school holidays that might influence prices or adult/child ratio? And if EVERYTHING else is really equal, wouldn't you rather go sooner than later!!

The Jewel and the Radiance are the same ship so you need to decide if you want to save money or prefer a different port.

or you want to do 6 or 8 nights on the newest of the Radiance Class ships?

The Radiance is doing the almost the exact itinerary as the Jewel. They will be alternaiting 6 and 8 night cruises.

When all else is equal, or maybe even not so much, read the meet and mingle threads for the two sailings that you are considering.

 

Since meeting fun new people is a big part of cruising (for some folks anyway) why not get a head start on that, and see which crowd is better suited to your own personality?

Jewel is a year newer - she is a sensational ship. I was on the eight day in December and would do that one again in a heart beat.

Jewel has a shower door in d1 and lower cabins.

Radiance has shower curtains in those cabins.

Only 2 Of The Voyager Class Ships Have The Childrens Water Park Area. I Know The Explorer Is One . Which Ship Has The Other One? I Would Only Be Interested In Sailing On Those 2 Ships Having Young Children .
