Curious1 Posted March 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2006 We went to the main dining room on the first night of the cruise but seems we will be dining the rest of the cruise at The Windjammer. Is it still necessary to tip the head waiter, the assistant waiter and the maitrya d at the main dining room if we are not eating there? Your quick responses will be greatly appreciated since we are in mid cruise! Curious1
ebedore Posted March 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2006 yes. The waitstaff are also the buffet employees. You get their service one way or another.
kruisecat Posted March 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2006 We saw our dining room waitstaff everyday in the windjammer at breakfast and they worked their tails off! YES! TIP!!!
hdawson Posted March 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Are you suggesting not tipping your DR waitstaff? ? ? They rotate duty also in the Windjammer and the gormet bites late night all over the ship and the Gala Buffet. They work very long hours to serve you seven days a week. Cruzin' Rob Posted March 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2006 YES!!! If you don't eat in the dinning room those seats are empty and your waiter and asst. waiter won't get paid for the week, so YES do tip. Also, like above, they don't just work in the dinning room. retiredldo Posted March 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 16, 2006 I would say yes to tipping the waiter and asst waiter but unless the head waiter does anything special for you and the matried (spelling) does something for you Leave them out. We just got off a cruise (14th) and our head waiter was no where to be found, things he would normally do he did not Pete
