Can you make a deposit with a gift card?

Recommended Posts

Yes, you can use it as your deposit, but...

The Royal gift cards I purchased in the past were a Royal pain in the ***.

You have to book directly with Royal then transfer it to your travel agent. After a certain amount of time and prior to a certain amount of time.

I'm sure some will say; "Not a big deal", but they weren't worth it for me.

Also, Keep the card because if you have to cancel it is your receipt. (though they may keep a record on your account)

I also had more problems using RC's gift card as I think it had to be applied to a new booking... Wasn't worth my time and hassle.

Later I was given two $100 gift card certificates for mentoring a group and I just applied them to a current booking as OBC. And that also took a little more time than it should have.

Just make sure to get a copy of the invoice when applying a gift card before getting off the phone.
