Zenith/Meridian Arvia

We are due to cruise on Arvia and wondering about our options for evening meals in MDR. I believe that Zenith has tablecloths and Meridian doesn't. What are the tables like in Meridian are they wood or some other covering. Also heard rumours that you can pre book evening meals in MDR 2 weeks before the cruise. If this is correct can you book either restaurant for the whole cruise and what times are available.

You can book the main dining room from about 2 weeks before departure, but only for the very early eating times i.e. between  about 5.30pm or 6.30pm. 
For later times you have to join the virtual or real queues on board each night.
