Wondering if anyone has been on a Alaska Connoisseur Escorted Cruisetour. We have one planned for August 2024. Starting in Anchorage ending in Vancouver on the Sapphire Princess. What is the good and the bad of it?

It kind of depends on which land tour you're doing, but...

The pace is pretty fast; You need to have luggage out early every morning and there's a lot of bus time. You won't be underfed. Don't expect to see Denali and you won't be disappointed. The group tour guide should help make it trouble free, well planned out for the slow, lazy and cognitively declined. (All three here:-)

Sapphire is a fine choice, and land-first cruise-second is my preference if I can't cruise both ways.

All in all, I enjoyed it and will repeat at some point.

Did it in June. We thought it was worth it.

They give you a rustic, Alaska experience. I could tell that many tourists areas offer a more rustic, primitive Alaska experience. I would not have been happy paying that amount of money for a primitive experience.

It's convenient to have a full-time concierge that is taking care of all the details. That is especially helpful when things don't go as planned and reservations need to be modified. I could enjoy my day while the concierge spent hers on the phone.

Alaskans have a high level of self-sufficiency so at times I found customer service there to be a little wanting compared to what I am used to. The concierge buffered me from having to deal with most of it.

Here is an old report of our Connoisseur tour in Alaska,

It might answer many of your questions.

Thank You, that helped a lot. Ours is different, starting in Anchorage. Funny, my cousin that is thinking about joining us lives in League City.
